Sammael is a monstrous spawn of the Ogdru Jahad in the American comic book series Hellboy. The character appears in the 2004 film adaptation of Hellboy, where it is a creature that Hellboy fights. In the comics, Sadu-Hem is a monstrous spawn of the Ogdru Jahad that Rasputin travels to the Arctic Circle to meet at its beckoning. Sadu-Hem is later used by Rasputin in an attempt to free the Ogdru Jahad from their crystal prisons by siphoning power from Liz Sherman into it. Sadu-Hem is incinerated by Liz's flames, which also reduces Rasputin to a skeleton. In the BPRD side story Plague of Frogs, a regenerated Sadu-Hem becomes the host for a doomsday cult leader named Humbert.

In the comics, a similar creature named Sadu-Hem is a monstrous spawn of the Ogdru Jahad that Rasputin travels to the Arctic Circle to meet at its beckoning. Rasputin later uses Sadu-Hem in an attempt to free the Ogdru Jahad from their crystal prisons by siphoning power from Liz Sherman into it. Sadu-Hem is incinerated by Liz's flames, which also reduces Rasputin to a skeleton. Rasputin travels to the Arctic Circle at the beckoning of Sadu-Hem. Rasputin later uses Sadu-Hem in an attempt to free the Ogdru Jahad from their crystal prisons by siphoning power from Liz Sherman into it. With the timely intervention of Abe Sapien impaling Rasputin while under the influence of the ghost of Elihu Cavendish, Rasputin ends up being reduced to a skeleton as Liz's flames incinerate Sadu-Hem. In the BPRD side story Plague of Frogs, a doomsday cult led by an acolyte of the Ogdru Jahad named Humbert becomes a host for a regenerated Sadu-Hem and fulfills Abe's near-death experience.
